Apple has released the second beta of WatchOS 9.2 to developers

Two weeks ago, Apple started testing the next iteration of WatchOS 9, namely WatchOS 9.2, on the Apple Watch. Today, the company released the second beta of watchOS 9.2 to developers. In addition to the new watchOS beta, Apple also released a new beta for iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, tvOS 16.2, and macOS Ventura 13.1. Apple rolls out a second beta build to eligible Apple Watch models with build number 20S5342d. This build weighs in at 345MB in size, which is roughly the same size as the first beta. At the time of writing, the second beta is available to developers, but it will also be available to public beta testers shortly. If you are a developer, you can freely upgrade your Apple Watch to watchOS 9.2 beta. For compatibility, an additional beta is available for Apple Watch Series 4 or newer models.

Apple rolled out the new iOS 16.2 beta with a bunch of new features including 5G connectivity support for India, medication widget for the lock screen, and more. These features have been reported by users running on other betas of iOS 16.2. Yes, there is no changelog or release notes coming with the beta and the same is the case with watchOS 9.2, but you can expect some new features, fixes, or system wide improvements with the new beta.

WatchOS 9.2 second beta update

If you have an Apple Watch Series 4 or newer, you can upgrade your watch to the new watchOS beta, all you need to do is update your iPhone to iOS 16.2 second beta And then you can install watchOS 9.2 second beta. Your Apple Watch by setting up a beta profile. Here’s how you can update your watch to the beta.

  1. At first, you need to login to Apple Developer Program website.
  2. Then, head over to the downloads.
  3. Tap on watchOS 9.2 second beta available under featured downloads. Then tap on the download button.
  4. Now install watchOS 9.2 second beta profile on your iPhone, then authorize the profile by going to Settings > General > Profiles.
  5. Now restart your iPhone.

Make sure your Apple Watch is at least 50% charged and connected to a Wi-Fi network. After installing the beta profile, open the Apple Watch app on your phone, go to General > Software Update > Download & Install, then install the new software.

Now the watchOS 9.2 second beta update will be downloaded and transferred to your Apple Watch. And after the installation process is complete, your watch will restart. Once everything is done, you can start using your Apple Watch.
