The Galaxy S23 Ultra rear camera setup has apparently been revealed.
It is now practically confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will have a 200MP main camera on the back. But what about the rest of the cameras? Well, rumors so far have hinted at a Galaxy S22 Ultra-like setup, at least in terms of resolution. Another popular tipster has echoed the rumors. According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will have a 200MP camera with a 10MP 10X periscope zoom camera, a 10MP 3X telephoto zoom camera, and a 12MP ultra-wide lens.

If you remember, the ultra-wide lens and two zoom cameras on the Galaxy S22 Ultra are also of the same resolution. Its successor is essentially just swapping out the 108MP main camera for a 200MP sensor. But there is more to this story. For one thing, we still don’t know if we’re talking about the same sensor as the current model, or if Samsung will use new solutions with the same resolution. If the upcoming phone gets new sensors, that should mean better image quality as well.

Even if it’s the sensors, Samsung can improve image quality in other ways. Hardware is only part of the game. A lot depends on camera software, algorithms, and processing. The company has one more year to improve all of them. Early leaks have already hinted at massive improvements in night and zoom image quality. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is claimed to bring Samsung’s biggest camera upgrade in five years. The current Ultra is already a great camera phone, and its successor could now kick things up a notch.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra will get a new 200MP camera.
While it’s unclear if the zoom cameras and ultra-wide lenses on the Galaxy S23 Ultra are the new sensors, we do know that there’s a 200MP main camera. Samsung has already launched two 200MP sensors but the upcoming flagship will not use either. The Korean firm will equip the phone with its third-gen solution. Again, this should mean an improvement over the first two 200Mp cameras. Samsung has likely learned from them and applied the learning to the new camera.

The Galaxy S23 series is rumored to be official in early 2023. Samsung has already started seeking regulatory approval for the phones. And that means it’s about time leaks and device rumors arrive more frequently. Stay tuned for all the latest information on the next-generation Samsung flagships.
