The premiere date for Netflix’s ‘Sonic Prime’ has been released.
“Sonic Prime” has been expected by many, and now, it in the end has the best date. As noted by Nintendo Life, it has been confirmed that the animated series will air on Netflix. It will be available for viewing on 15 December 2022.
Since its release is just before Christmas, Netflix subscribers can watch it with an eggnog in one hand and a remote in the other. Not to mention the number of streams since it’s the holidays. People will be on vacation, they will have plenty of time to watch the show.
Characters of the show
In a Twitter post by IGN, posters of the characters that will appear in “Sonic Prime” have been posted. It features the titular Blue Hedgehog, Knuckles, Amy Rose, Tails, Eggman, Big the Cat, Froggy, Shadow, and Rouge.
Teasers
The first teaser was launched on 20 September. It shows Sonic running in circles around Shadow (and dashing by Big the Cat and Froggy). Other scenes show Sonic in battle with Dr. Eggman, as he sits atop a giant mechanical suit. Dr. Eggman is seen holding a flying crystal, which serves as an easter egg for the second teaser.
The second official teaser was released today October 28. Dr. Eggman refers to the crystal from the previous teaser as the Paradox Prism. Sonic and the gang—Knuckles, Amy Rose, Teal, and Rouge—enter the cave where the crystal was found.
A battle ensues between the Hedgehog Team and Dr. Eggman’s robotic minions. As Eggman uses the Paradox Prism, Sonic and the gang are transported to another dimension. It is then seen that some of them have been “robotized”, adopting technological upgrades and aiding them in combat.
This gives the audience an idea of the location and atmosphere of the animated show. Initially, it will take place on its home planet, Mobius. As the story progresses, they will be transported to a dimension where machines are more prominent than nature.
Program
“Sonic Prime” is developed by SEGA, Marza, and Wild Brain. The latter serves as the animation studio for the animated Netflix series. There will be seven episodes that are 20 minutes long, and one that runs 40 minutes. Wild Brain Studios will animate a total of 24 episodes. The showrunners and executive producers are the crew of Men of Action Entertainment, known for such works as “Ben 10” and “Big Hero Six.”

Big things are expected from the show, given that the film adaptation was a huge success, released in 2020 and 2022. “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” grossed $400 million at the global box office. This makes the sequel the highest-grossing domestic opening for a video game adaptation.
